More than one person recently told me that summer is basically over after the Fourth of July. And I recall thinking, “Hey, Pessimist, step off my summer fun!” But there is something to their statement. If you’re like me, after winter, you are ecstatic that summer finally arrived. I vow to squander no moment; I pack days and evenings with outdoor family fun and am so busy running from one event to the next that suddenly it is the Fourth of July, school supplies are back on the store shelves, and I wonder how its been three days since I weeded my garden. I am again in awe at how quickly summer days fly by compared to the long, dark, blustery January days.
