Jane Frances Malterer 1941–2020 Waseca—Obituary for Jane Frances (Farley) Malterer Jane Frances Malterer, age 78 of Waseca died 2/4/20, at her home surround by her loving family. She had fought a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born in Waseca, Minnesota on August 10, 1941, she was the daughter of Raphael and Genevieve (Lang) Farley. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1959. She was married to Robert Malterer Sr. on August 20, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waseca County. Jane had many careers during her life. She was a wife, mother, foster parent, co-business owner, bus driver and transportation coordinator. Jane enjoyed spending time with family and friends in both Minnesota and Arizona. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, sightseeing, motorsports and spending time at casinos. Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Malterer Sr., three sons, Randall (Jeannette) Malterer of DeForest WI, Kevin Malterer of Janesville and Robert Malterer Jr of Plattsmough NE; one daughter, Dawn (Bruce) Barrie of Waseca, daughter-in-law Susan Malterer of Waseca and eight grandchildren, Marcus, Scott, David, Brittany, Samantha, Loral I, Bryce and JaeLynn; six great grandchildren Liam, Aurora, Phoenix, Gia, Evelyn and Piper. She is survived by siblings, Margie Graif of Owatonna, Lucy Herold of Janesville, Robert Farley and special friend "Rosi" Neil of Janesville, twin brother James (Del) Farley of Waseca, numerous nieces, nephews and special foster children Leon (Krissy) Luce and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith; siblings Mary Winegar, Joseph Farley, sister-in-laws, Maureen Farley and Renee Farley, and brother-in-laws, Joseph Graif and Donald Winegar. A special thanks to Mayo Hospice for their unending support. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Sacred Heart Church, 111 4th Street Northwest, Waseca, Minnesota 56093 with Father Gregory Leif officiating. A memorial visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of the service at the church.
