Waterville Public Library will hold a story time on Monday, August 8 at 10 a.m. in Waterville Lions Park. From puppets to pumping music, from bubble machines to banging bands, these are not your average story time. The Library uses movement, STEAM activities, curiosity, imaginative play, and active learning to keep kids engaged. Free and open to the public.
Trowbridge Park Teen Nerf War
Come be a part of Waseca Public Library’s Nerf War! Games include Hunger Games, Carpe, Playground Siege, and Minnesota VIP. We will provide Nerf guns or you can bring your own Nerf supplies on Wednesday, August 10 at 1 p.m. at Trowbridge Park in Waseca. Free and exclusively for ages 13-18.
Seashell Collage Workshop
Kids will use seashells to create their own masterpieces at Waldorf Public Library on Wednesday, August 10 at 3 p.m. Seashells can be painted, placed, and layered to create an animal or scene constructed entirely from seashells. Exclusively for ages 9-12.
Oil Pastels Workshop
Creativebug artist and instructor Joy Ting will teach participants how to be loose and expressive as they create paintings using oil pastels and colored pencils at New Richland Public Library on Thursday, August 11 at 5:30 p.m. Join us to create oil pastel pieces inspired by nature and discover a style that is all your own. How to Train Your Dragon Party
Train with Hiccup and his friends to become dragon riders extraordinaire at Waseca Public Library on Monday, August 13 at 10 a.m. Kids will create their own dragon sighting guide, learn how to read Viking runes, feed the dragons, and more. Geared for ages 7-12.
Books and Brews
Waseca Public Library has found the perfect combo for a book club: bookworm babble and beer. Stop by the library to pick up this month’s book discussion selection, The Road to Jonestown by Jeff Guinn. Book club begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at Half Pint Brewing Company. Drinks and food not provided but can be purchased.
