It’s the holiday season, and two of the most popular gifts this year are wearable devices that help people track their exercise and sleep—along with home DNA testing kits that help people discover more about their ancestry or genetic health risks.


There were no fire truck escorts with lights and sirens on Saturday evening to welcome the K-W competition cheerleaders home from their MCCA State Championship. The team turned in its best performance of the season and rose to the top, winning the Class A Tumbling division at state.

By now I’m accustomed to writing 2019 in the dateline on my checks and my mind is already looking ahead to February news stories and upcoming events like the 40th Kenyon Carriage & Cutter Day parade on Feb. 23.
