Ersland

Bobbie "Bob" Ersland Kenyon—Bobbie "Bob" Ersland, 94, of Kenyon, passed away November 26, 2019 sitting on his tractor preparing for an expected snow storm. Bob was born January 6th 1925, in Roberts County South Dakota. He lived there until the family moved to Minnesota where he attended Country School. Bob married Hazel Welch in 1950, they later divorced. On October 29, 1960, he married Kathy Haugen and moved to their farm south of Kenyon. Along with the daily tasks associated with being a dairy farmer, he served his community as a school bus driver for over 50 years. Although his days of employment were over, he was always looking ahead to what needed to be done. Through their nearly 59 years of marriage, he and Kathy were inseparable. They ran the farm together, drove bus together, and traveled together. Their most important time together was spent living their faith. His example of a life well lived will be remembered with deep love and affection by his children Linda (Randy) Prudoehl, La Vae (Steve) Flemke, Peter (Kris) Ersland, Becky Wendland, and Tom (Christine) Ersland, 13 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. Siblings Lois (Earl) Stumpf, Norma Jean "Nin" (Wayne) Clark, Joan (Alan Heggedahl) Eckblad, David "Pete" (Carol) Ersland, and Don Ersland. He was proceeded in death by his parents Norman and Ethel, brothers Paul and Dale, son-in-law Keith and the love of his life, his wife Kathy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday from 4pm to 7pm and at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon on Saturday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held December 7, 2019 at 11am at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon with Pastor Julie Rogness officiating.
