Tuesday evening, the St. Peter boys tennis team traveled to Waseca to take on the Bluejays with the opportunity to claim the BSC East Division title. The doubles teams swept the action for the Saints while Marty Anderson and Cooper Dean earned wins in singles No. 1-2 to give St. Peter the 5-2 victory and the division championship.

The Saints will return to action Friday, May 13 with matches against SW Christian followed by Worthington before the conference championship match against Luverne which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17.

Anderson (6-0, 6-2) and Dean (6-1, 6-0) both earned 2-0 victories in singles No. 1 and singles No. 2 respectively. In doubles No. 1, Will Elias and Anders Dixon won 2-0 (7-5, 6-1) while doubles No. 3 team Tyson Schmitz and Quinn Dixon earned a 2-0 (6-2, 6-4) victory.

The match of the day came in doubles No. 2 where Ben Taylor and Fede Zimmerman dropped the first game 6-4 before rallying back to win game two 6-4 to force a pivotal third game. The duo carried the momentum from the game two victory and won 6-3 to claim the 2-1 victory.
