Yahye Mohammed’s first-half goal led the St. Peter Saints boys soccer team to a 1-0 nonconference victory Saturday over the visiting Mankato East Cougars.

The shutout win improved the Saints overall season record to 5-0-1. St. Peter’s defense has allowed just four goals in those six matches. East fell to 2-5.

A busy schedule lies ahead for the Saints (5-1-1, 4-1-1 Big South Conference), with three straight on the road before a Tuesday, Sept. 17 match against another unbeaten, Mankato West (5-0-1).

After Tuesday’s 2-0 Big South Conference loss at Waseca (4-3 overall, 3-2 conference), it’s a Thursday, Sept. 12 Big South match-up at Fairmont (3-3-1, 2-3-1), then a 1 p.m. Saturday nonconference match at Southwest Minnesota Christian (2-2) in Edgerton. St. Peter beat Fairmont 4-1 in the first game of the season.
