Merritt Conrad Hyers of East Fallowfield Township, Pennsylvania
Merritt Conrad Hyers passed away on March 23 in East Fallowfield Township, Pennsylvania. He was born July 31, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was a minister, professor, and author. He earned his Ph.D. in Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1965. Served as pastor in NJ, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Professor of history of religions at Beloit College and Gustavus Adolphus College. Author of many books and journal articles on world religions.
Survived by his wife, Geraldine Hyers, three children, and three grandchildren.
Funeral is Tuesday March 26. The viewing is at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Doe Run Presbyterian Church 3104 Doe Run Church Road Rd East Fallowfield Township. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Audibon Society at www.audibon.com or 225 Varick Street New York, NY 10014.
