Officials from the Kasota and St. Peter Fire departments and the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 4:09 p.m.

The property, located at 24034 575th Lane, south of Kasota, was completely engulfed in flames, but emergency responders were able to put out the fire. However, the property itself suffered significant damage from the fire.

Owners Jack and Carol Eaton were not at home at the time of the fire. No one was hurt except for the family dog which died in the flames.

North Mankato Fire Department also assisted with an air truck.
