Matthew Witty-Frank, the son of Cynthia Witty and Meryl Frank, of St. Peter, and the grandson of Marilyn Witty and the late Sheriff George Witty, successfully completed his Board of Review for Eagle Scout rank on May 16.
Matthew joined Pack 58 in September 2008 as a Tiger Cub. He advanced through the ranks as a Cub Scout to Webelos, received the Arrow of Light Award and became a Boy Scout with Troop 58 in 2013. Matthew achieved all the ranks from Tenderfoot to Life Scout, earned 55 merit badges and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is currently the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in Troop 58. He attended the Boy Scouts National Jamboree in 2017 in West Virginia.
To earn the rank of Eagle, a scout must demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project. For his project, Matthew gave back to Troop 58’s charter organization, First Lutheran Church. His project involved organizing the garden shed by building shelving and also built two raised garden beds for the Building and Grounds Committee. The project also included cleaning up the grounds around the church.
Matthew is a senior at St. Peter High School. He is involved with the local trapshooting team, fall musicals and choir. A Court of Honor ceremony was held for Matthew on Sep. 21 at First Lutheran Church.
