St. Peter Senior Center is starting two new programs in January.

The first is a free giveaway of surplus breads, rolls and pastries from St. Peter Co-op, River Rock Cafe and Family Fresh Markets for seniors. Seniors should bring containers or bags. It will run 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the senior center.

The second, “Nickel Coffee,” will allow seniors to buy regular coffee for 5 cents from 9-10 a.m. Thursdays. In January, it will be at Diamond Dust Bakery. In February, it will be in the Heritage Room of the Jackson Campus Center at Gustavus Adolphus College.
