Dale D. Marsolek 1949–2020 Claremont—Dale D. Marsolek, 70, of Claremont, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Marys Campus in Rochester. He was born September 17, 1949, in Owatonna, the son of Louis and Arline (Erdman) Marsolek. Dale graduated from Claremont High School. He entered into the United States Army, served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. On July 26, 1975, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Johnson at the Associated Church in Owatonna. He worked for the Triton Public School System as a lead custodian for over 28 years until his retirement 2014. Dale enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan including cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Dale loved traveling to casinos and always looked forward to the annual trip up north to the cabin with his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Marsolek of Claremont; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Beyer of Oronoco, Kimberly Marsolek of Owatonna and Robyn Saxton of Owatonna; grandchildren, LaDawn Ivaska, Amy Thiede, Luke Beyer, Cody and Jacob Saxton; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Madison Ivaska. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Verlyn and Larry Marsolek. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Dale's family.
