Bruce A. Williams Jr. 1946–2020 Owatonna—Bruce A. Williams Jr., 74, of Owatonna, died Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Homestead Hospice House. He was born August 6, 1946, in Boone, IA the son of Bruce and Vivian (Anderson) Williams. Bruce graduated from Jefferson High School, IA in 1964, and later from Minnesota State University, Mankato with an associate degree. Bruce met his future wife, DeAnn Walker in kindergarten and they were united in marriage on March 26, 1966. He worked for Walnut Grove Products in Atlantic, IA from 1966-1969, Merchants Warehouse/White Lines Trucking in Des Moines and Ankeny, IA from 1970-1984 and Owatonna Canning/Lakeside Foods in Owatonna from 1984-2010 until his retirement. He was nominated for the 2006 AFOP National Conference for the Association of Farmworkers Opportunity Program in Washing D.C. Bruce traveled to many places including: The Netherlands, Norway, Alaska, Northern Canada Fly-In Fishing, Duluth and the yearly trip to Vegas which they visited since 1980. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, men's card club and going to the horse tracks. Bruce was well known for his laughter and his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife DeAnn Williams of Owatonna; son, Brad (Debbie) Williams of Zumbrota; daughter, Mindie (Clint) Tanner of Waseca; granddaughters, Alisha (Justin) Vick, Nicole (Jason) McSherry, Britani (Brandon) Arndt, Rachel (Bryce Goodwin) Williams; grandsons, Clayton Tanner, Maclain Tanner, Zach Williams and Nick Peterman; four and a half great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Williams; parents, Bruce and Vivian Williams; sisters, Lonna Lane and Lenda Hermanstorfer. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in the Paton Township Cemetery in Paton, IA.
