Magdalen Klecker 1931–2020 Owatonna—Magdalen Klecker of Owatonna died November 9, 2020 at the Owatonna Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am at the Church on Friday. Friends and relatives may come to the church from 10:15 am until the time of the funeral liturgy. Magdalen was born the daughter of Rudolph and Magdalen (Kovar) on January 4, 1931 on the family farm in Somerset Township, rural Steele County. Magdalen attended country school and later Owatonna High School graduating in 1948. She was united in marriage to Leonard Klecker on May 10, 1949 at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. Magdalen farmed alongside her husband Leonard in Somerset Township for all of her working life. The couple retired from farming in 1979. Magdalen was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Church. Her life interests include playing cards, puzzles, sewing, embroidering and visiting with family and friends. Magdalen is survived by her brother Walter (Ethel) Halla and sister Frances Meyer both in Owatonna, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard in 2001, three brothers; Richard, Rudolph and Henry and two sisters Anna Zak and Lucille Robertson.
