Doris H. Paulson 1933–2019 Owatonna—Doris Helen Paulson, 86, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. She was born January 28, 1933 in Ellington Township, Dodge County the daughter of Gaylord and Louise (Hobert) Meitzner. She grew up on a farm near Claremont. She graduated from Claremont High School in 1950. Following her schooling, she began working for Jostens in Owatonna. On August, 31, 1951, she married Duane Paulson at First Baptist Church in West Concord. The couple made their home on a farm between Dodge Center and Claremont. In 1965, they moved to a farm south of Owatonna. Doris was primarily a homemaker. She was also a caregiver for a number of elderly relatives. She considered it part of her ministry. Also a part of her ministry was serving in her church whether by teaching Sunday School, working in the nursery, Vacation Bible School, serving funeral lunches, singing in the choir, singing duets with Duane and Christian Women's Club. Over the years, Doris was involved at First Baptist Church in West Concord, Bethel Church in Owatonna and was instrumental in starting Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church. Other things she enjoyed include flowers, gardening, canning, baking and decorating cakes, camping, traveling, neighborhood birthday club, time at the cabin, cooking fish, and feeding the birds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, Doris loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Duane Paulson of Owatonna; children, Debbie (Larry) Adams of Rosemount, Dan (Penny) Paulson of Alexandria, Dennis (Cathy) Paulson of Young America, Doyle (Nancy) Paulson of Waterville, Dean (Sharri) Paulson of Stacy, Diane (Bob) Dalberg of Ely, Dawn Paulson of Owatonna and Darci (Chris) Ensminger of Colfax, IA; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Freerksen of Littleton, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Louise and a great-granddaughter, Violet Paulson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, August 9th from 4:00-7:00 PM and at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM . Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church with Pastor David Shaw officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Cornerstone Church Mission Fund.
