Solveig C. Tharaldson Owatonna—Solveig Constance Tharaldson, 92, of Owatonna, died Friday, November 13, 2020 at Owatonna Hospital. She was born September 11, 1928 in Breckenridge the daughter of Sigurd and Inga (Odegaard) Olson. Solveig was raised in Grand Forks, ND where she attended school and graduated from high school. She married Tarl Tharaldson in June of 1950. His teaching career brought the couple to Owatonna shortly after their marriage. Solveig completed cosmetology school in Faribault which allowed her to work at Sisser's in Owatonna styling wigs for a few years in the early 1970's. She continued working in sales for Sisser's until she retired when the store closed. Solveig was a member of Christ Community Covenant Church and later Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Owatonna. She loved to go to church and was also a member of Christian Women's Club. Solveig enjoyed crafts, puzzles and shopping. She loved having coffee every weekday evening with her neighbor and dear friend, Dorothy. She will be remembered for always sending a birthday card with a balloon inside. She is survived by daughters, Renee (and Mark) Korte of Sacramento, CA, Nancy (and Fred) Ogden of Madison, AL; sons, Bryan Tharaldson of Owatonna, David Tharaldson of Blooming Prairie, Robert (and Denise) Tharaldson of Sacremento, CA, Paul Tharaldson of Ellendale, Bruce (Michael Flowers) Tharaldson of Moorehead; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Helen Egstad of Fergus Falls and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tarl Tharaldson; son, James Tharaldson; sisters, Ruby Halverson, Ann Marie Eastwood. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
