Lola M. Rions-Pruett 1929–2021 Owatonna—Lola M. Rions-Pruett, 91, of Owatonna, died Friday, January 8, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1929, in Deer Creek, the daughter of Erick and Ruth (Haas) Eschenbach. Lola graduated from Owatonna High School in 1947. On May 15, 1949, she married Thomas Rions at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. They lived on the east coast while Thomas was serving in the military. They returned to Owatonna in 1954, built their family home and had five children. They later divorced. Lola was a homemaker and enjoyed teaching her children many things. On February 14, 1986, she married James "Jim" Pruett. They were married until his passing in July 1989. Lola's life was centered around her family, faith and the church. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna and Zwingli Church of Christ in Berne. Lola was loving, caring and spunky. She enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. Lola had a love for animals and was truly passionate for jewelry and making art. She is survived by her children, Dwight (and Carla) Rions of Northfield, Cindy (and Randy) Gladden of Owatonna; Todd (and Brenda) Rions of Owatonna and Kris (and Jeffrey) Jackson of Owatonna; many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sister, Joan Keller of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Pruett; daughter, JoLynn Rions; and brothers, Kermit Eschenbach and Norbert Eschenbach. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held January 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna or Zwingli Church of Christ in Berne.
