Norma L. Hafstad 1953–2019 Ellendale—Norma L. Hafstad, 66, of Ellendale, died on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born on May 3, 1953, in Owatonna, the daughter of Oren and Alice (Joslin) Quaintance. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1971. She was raised with sisters, Ruth, Barb, Mary, Pat, Sue, Lorna, and Kandy; brothers, Delbert, Roger and John. She was married to Curt Christianson from 1971-1978. They had two children, Kelly and Stuart. In 1980, she married David Hafstad. They had one daughter, Amanda. Norma worked for Truth Hardware where she worked for over 20 years until her retirement in 2015. She loved reading books and listening to music. She also liked to knit, sew, bake bread and making cards. Norma enjoyed spending time talking with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, David Hafstad of Ellendale; daughters, Kelly (Justin) Woody of LA and Amanda (and Hal James) Hafstad of Northfield; son, Stuart (Tina) Christianson of Owatonna; four grandsons; seven granddaughters; sisters, Barbara Yerhart of Keokuk, IA, Pat Quaintance of Owatonna and Kandy (and Scott) Johnson of Owatonna; brother, John (and Doreen) Quaintance of Owatonna; many extended family; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Alice; sisters, Ruth Duesterhoeft, Mary Townley, Susan Sanchez and Lorna Kidder; brothers, Delbert Quaintance and Glen Quaintance; two infant siblings, Tommy and Nancy. A private family memorial service will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or donor's choice.
