OWATONNA — The Owatonna Business Women (OBW) would like to extend a giant thank you to all 58 women who participated in the 2013 Fall Event – Expect the Unexpected, presented by Regina Barr, founder and CEO of Red Ladder, Inc. which has one goal: to develop people and inspire success.
Regina’s presentation, Expect the Unexpected: How to Think on Your Feet Without Getting Knocked Over, was about how success in business is equal parts inspiration, perspiration, and improvisation. Participants learned simple improvisation techniques that are meant to help them be more agile, creative and confident in successfully handling the unexpected — no matter what the business situation. This was an interactive presentation and participants had a great time getting outside of their comfort zones and using their sense of adventure and their sense of humor.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the Owatonna Business Women’s next big event! The Women of Achievement banquet and scholarship announcement will be held on February 28, 2014 at the Owatonna History Center. This award recognizes and honors a woman’s career success, acknowledges her assistance to other women in the work force and community, and her active participation in business, service, and other local organizations.
The next monthly meeting of the OBW will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Owatonna County Club. Our featured topic will be the Owatonna Foundation.
