Donald R. Forsberg 1941–2020 Blooming Prairie —Don Forsberg, of Blooming Prairie, died peacefully Nov. 16 after a six-week struggle with complications from lung surgery. Don led a rich and varied life, starting along the banks of the Mississippi in Brooklyn Park, graduating in 1959 from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, living by the sea in Mexico, owning a ranch in Colombia, South America. In Northfield, he led story circles; he taught storytelling and exercise classes, and he led groups on hikes in the State Parks. He is survived by his son Andrew, granddaughter Annaka ("Tulip"), his wife of 32 years, Mary Flaten, and his two sisters: Judy (Dick) Minday and Janet (Bob) Forsberg Osterman. There will be a gathering of family and friends to honor his memory at a later date at Afton State Park, where he worked for the past six years.
