Two tow truck operators from Faribault were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries after they were struck by a car on I-35 in Rice County early Monday morning. The State Patrol is seeking help identifying the driver who did not stop.

The tow truck operators were working to remove a vehicle from the freeway’s center median north of Northfield, according to the State Patrol. A northbound car reportedly struck them and did not stop.

Michael Richard Sirek, 39, of Faribault, was taken to the Allina Health Faribault Medical Center. Parker Daniel Swanson, 23, of Faribault, was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

The suspect vehicle is a black 2006 Lincoln MKZ. It has damage to the driver’s side door and is missing the driver’s side mirror, according to the State Patrol.
