A Northfielder faces multiple felonies after police say he was found possessing child pornography.

Dylan Moses Berg, 23, was charged Nov. 8 with two felony counts of possessing pornographic work involving a minor, one felony count of soliciting a child through electronic communication and one misdemeanor count of distributing obscene material.

Berg reportedly told police he identifies as transgender, though police referred to Berg using the male pronoun.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Rice County District Court, Northfield Police in July 2016 received an email from someone reporting that Berg admitted to being a predator and that he tricks underage girls into sending him pornography. The email had attached screenshots of messages sent between the person making the report and Berg.

In the messages, Berg confessed possessing over 1,000 pictures that had since been deleted, according to court documents. Berg acknowledged that he had naked pictures of girls as young as 13 years old.

During an interview in July 2016, Berg reportedly admitted to having photos and videos of about 10 to 15 underage children.

On Berg’s phone, iPad and computer were more than 100 images, at least two of which were of underage girls. A forensic search of the devices turned up 28 sexually explicit videos of two underage girls, one living in Minneapolis, the other in Oregon.

Berg was charged by summons and is due in Rice County District Court Dec. 14.
