Mayor Rhonda Pownell invites the entire community to the 2023 State of the City Address on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Carleton College’s Weitz Center for Creativity, Kracum Performance Hall, 320 Third Street. The Mayor’s address will celebrate what Northfield has accomplished this past year and what is being worked on this upcoming year.
The program will feature live music including a performance from the Northfield Youth Choir, and video presentations of annual awards such as the Mayor for a Day Essay Contest, Living Treasure Award, Board & Commission Member Excellence Award, Ethical Leadership Award, Human Rights Award and the Employee Excellence Award.
“If you’re passionate about Northfield, you won’t want to miss this event,” says Mayor Pownell. “The city is full of amazing people—residents, businesses owners, members of organizations, volunteers and public servants—who are, when faced with challenges, ready and willing to respond and work on solutions. That’s what this event will showcase.”
ASL and Spanish interpreters will be available. Refreshments will be available after the address.
A recording of the event will be available in English and Spanish on Northfield Public Broadcasting channels 180 and 187 and on the city’s YouTube Channel throughout the year.
