The Tri-City United baseball team fell in a no-run game to Sibley East on Monday. The Titans struggled to hit and made numerous errors in the field, allowing the Wolverines to pick up a 10-0 victory.
The Titans and the Wolverines opened with a scoreless inning, but Sibley East took the lead in the second inning after collecting three runs. The Wolverines ran away with the game in the third inning, scoring seven runs to lead the Titans 10-0. Sibley East was aided by walks and errors, allowing the team to load the bases with unearned runners.
TCU shut out the Wolverines in the fourth, but couldn’t collect any runs of their own. After one last chance to score a run at the top of the fifth, the Titans fell scoreless again.
Standouts for the Titans included Brody Rud and Chris Johnson, each produced one hit. On pitching, Max Krautkramer threw for the first 2.5 innings, pitching three strikeouts and nine first pitch strikes. Nolan Readman took over for the remaining 1.5 innings, throwing two strikeouts and four first-pitch strikes.
