The Minnesota Department of Transportation closed Highway 19 from Henderson to Highway 169 at 2 p.m. May 3 to make repairs due to erosion caused by surface water.

Traffic will be detoured to Highway 169 and Highway 93.

Highway 19 is expected to be closed for approximately two weeks for repairs. Motorists are encouraged to monitor 511mn.org for updates.

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
