A convicted drunk driver is facing two felonies for driving while imparied and failing to stop for sheriff’s deputies.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Le Sueur County court, a sheriff’s deputy patrolling County Road 11 Oct. 22 noticed a truck driven by Andrew Russell Holicky, 35, of Kilkenny, headed north, going well below the posted speed limit and weaving in his lane of travel. The deputy reported Holicky pulled into a driveway and headed south, continuing to drive erratically and well under the speed limit.

Holicky, who reportedly continued driving for 2 miles even after the deputy turned on his lights and siren, told the deputy he “wasn’t sure he wanted to” pull over, though he admitted to seeing the lights and hearing the siren.

The deputy reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Holicky’s vehicle. After Holicky failed field sobriety tests, he was taken to the Le Sueur County Jail where he reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Holicky, who has a 2009 first-degree DWI conviction and has license restrictions forbidding him from driving after drinking, was charged with felony first-degree DWI. Minnesota court records show Holicky has convictions in 2004 for refusing a breathalyzer test and a 2003 DWI.

Holicky was also charged with a second felony, fleeing a police officer, and refusing a breathalyzer and violating driving restrictions. His next appearance in court is set for Dec. 16.
