Improving care and local expertise is very important to Mayo Clinic Health System. From family medicine services to more complex health care needs, the medical center wants to keep patients as close to home as possible without sacrificing quality.
To continue meeting those needs and to ensure a consistent experience, Mayo Clinic Health System specialty providers recently began providing care for patients at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague.
The specialists include David Brokl, M.D., Gastroenterology; Mark Cardamone-Rayner, M.D., Otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose and throat); and Ali Latefi, M.D., Urology.
“The addition of these providers is a benefit to our organization and the community,” says Mary Klimp, Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague administrator. “Our new model affords patients access to the experience and knowledge of Mayo Clinic specialty providers. These specialists work collaboratively with our primary care providers to meet the needs of our patients locally.”
Gastroenterologists diagnose and treat diseases of the digestive tract and liver. This involves a variety of problems, including swallowing disorders, heartburn, ulcers, abdominal pain, weight loss and diarrhea. Otorhinolaryngology providers specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, disorders and surgery of the ear, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck. Urologists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female urinary tract conditions.
