Mayo Clinic Health System — Waseca in Janesville recently welcomed Tammy Losee, nurse practitioner, to its family medicine team. Losee, who lives in Janesville with her husband and three children, received her master’s in nursing from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri in 2014. She worked with Mayo Clinic Health System as a patient care assistant from 2000 to 2006 and as a nurse from 2006 to 2008 before moving to the Twin Cities for two years. Her family moved back to the area in 2010, which brought her back to Mayo Clinic Health System nursing until transitioning to her nurse practitioner role in 2014.

“Starting to care for patients in Janesville is pretty exciting,” says Losee. “It’s nice working in the community I live in. I know many of the people here and look forward to building relationships with others.”

Currently, Losee sees patients in Janesville on Mondays and Thursdays, but a plan to expand her coverage is in place. She spends the other weekdays assisting at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca. She touts the advantages of working for a health care system that features Mayo Clinic care.

“I like the resources of Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System,” adds Losee. “Providers throughout the enterprise can see patient records to assist with care coordination. It’s nice for everyone to be connected.”

Losee is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her medical interests include cardiology, women’s health and caring for entire families — from pediatrics to geriatrics. Outside of work, Losee enjoys running, reading, traveling and playing golf with her husband.

“We’re pleased to have Tammy join our team,” says Daniel Stahl, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca medical director. “She adds experience, skill and passion, which benefits patients and the Janesville community.”
