John G. Borchert 1938–2020 Faribault—John G. Borchert, age 81 of Faribault, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Faribault Senior Living. Memorial services will be held at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault at a later date. Memorial visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. John Gary, the son of Walter and Marian (Wickett) Borchert, was born August 26, 1938 in Minneapolis. As a young boy, he was an apprentice to his father as they started Borchert Mill & Lumber, which later became Chadderdon Lumber. He acquired many skills from an early age and also enjoyed time with his sister, Marilyn on the family farm. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and Church and graduated from Faribault High School and Mankato State University with a degree in Mechanical Drafting. He served six years in the U.S. Navy traveling the world. He then became a journeyman plumber and member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. John married Anna (Meyer) Muchow on July 17, 1970 in Sioux Falls, SD and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2014. John loved to do many activities; played church softball, bowled for the Moose Lodge, horseshoes, cards and attending tournaments, but his passion was playing golf in MN & AZ (where they resided in the winter). He was active in veteran's affairs through VFW (past president) and American Legion. He loved his time with his Moose Lodge family, where he was past president, helped with charity events, breakfasts, or anywhere he could help. He is survived by children, Amy Borchert and Jay Borchert; step children, DeAnna (Scott) Pitts, Jackie (Tony) Grossman, Vyron (June) Muchow, Cheryl Muchow (partner Brian Dwyer), Phillip (Mary) Muchow, Glenda Muchow, Derin Muchow (Rick Tuskowski), and special family friend, Rick Remmey; sixteen grandchildren, Alexis Ann Borchert, Paige Borchert and Johnathon Borchert Christina Muchow, Melissa (Scott) Musgjerd, Jason (and Brittany) Schwab, Tiffany Pitts, TJ (Kate) Grossman, Jamie (Kris) Shaban, Matthew (Krista) Muchow, Zachary Muchow, Lucas Muchow, Evan Muchow (partner Casey Gray), Nicholas Pitts, Kaitlin Pitts, Lindsey Pitts, seven great-grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Marilyn Borchert.
