Gerald Schwake 1930–2019 Kenyon —Gerald W. Schwake, age 89, of Kenyon, died peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial services for Gerald William Schwake will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheeling Township on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Julia Kallsen and the Reverend Lora Sturm officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Gerald William Schwake, the son of Erwin and Elda (Kuhlman) Schwake was born on June 9, 1930 in Faribault. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1948. On June 14, 1953 Gerald was united in marriage to Joan Borchert in New Ulm. Gerald was a dedicated fourth generation farmer and Pioneer Sales Representative who served on elevator and implement boards at the local and state level. He was a kind, humble, hardworking man who was devoted to his family, church and community. Survivors include his wife, Joan; children, Randall (and JoEllen) Schwake of Inver Grove Heights, Terrell (and Joan L.) Schwake of Kenyon, Cheryl (and David) Floren of Kenyon, Julie Weaver of Anoka, Jean (and Michael) Donohue of Dubuque, IA and Amy (and Shawn) Thompson of Parrish, FL; grandchildren, Matt, Marc, Erin, Kyle, Kirk, Trevor, Taylor, Ryan, Kristi, Charles, Sam, Maren, Jack, Megan, Laney and Connor; nine great grandchildren; sister, Vivian (and Jack) Ocenasek; and many other relatives and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Elda; sisters, Lucille (and Merton) Hoover, Marjorie (and Carlyle) Hansen, Beverly (and Warren) Studer and Carol (and Dr. James Roy) Kent and brother, Marvin (and Audrey) Schwake.
