Kathryn Dorothy Adamek 11/13/1922–4/28/2020 Lonsdale—Born Kathryn (Katie) Forystek in Brooklyn Center, she went to country school in Camden and Brooklyn Center, left home at 15 years of age and worked in Minneapolis. At age 22, she met and married William Adamek at St. Phillips Catholic Church in North Minneapolis. They farmed close to Veseli in Wheatland Township. Mr. Adamek became Rice county commissioner and served for 12 years until his death in 1973. Katie is survived by: two children, Robert Adamek of Elko and Dottie Hanson of Webster; also grandson Mark and wife Dianna Peterson and great grandchildren Matthew, Katelyn, and Samantha. Also by other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by sisters, Florence Gelinas and Martha Lewison. Katie was active in making things for the Veseli Church Ho-Down held each year at her church: things such as pickles, relishes, salsas, jams and jellies, and flower plants plus picking and cleaning much caraway seed. She sold the farm in 1990 and moved to Lonsdale. She lived there for many years until her death at age 97. Private family services will be held. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. White Funeral Home, Lonsdale, MN
