Marion was born on February 28, 1941, in Le Sueur County to Anton and Marcella (Turek) Petricka. She attended a rural country school near Faribault and Faribault High School. Marion was united in marriage to Orville A. Bauer on November 8, 1958. Marion was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She and Orville had a hog farm in Faribault, where she passionately dedicated most of her life. She was no ordinary wife of a farmer, but a true partner who tirelessly worked all facets of the operation. Marion was the ultimate women jack-of-all-trades; chief caretaker of the mama and baby piglets, nurse, mechanic, carpenter, electrician, equipment operator, and gardener. There was nothing she was afraid to tackle. She was also an excellent cook most known for her bread and kolaches. She taught all her children to cook and bake with the best of them! Marion took a lot of pride in her vegetable & flower gardens, canning, crocheting, embroidery, playing cards, doing word searches and was a Bingo Queen. She had a big heart and was a true friend to many who could always depend on her for help, no matter what time of the day or how tired she was from working on the farm. She was well known as "Grandma" by many people outside of the Bauer family because of her enduring commitment to always showing an act of kindness to everyone. Marion is survived by her husband, Orville Bauer and four children, Julie (Larry) Perron, Faribault, MN; Steven (Sue) Bauer, Faribault, MN; Mike (Lori) Bauer, Waverly, MN; and Mary (Jerome) Grambart, Faribault, MN; siblings, LaVonne (Hank) Speak, Hot Springs Village, AR; Tony Petricka, Owatonna, MN; and Susie Petricka, Faribault, MN; brother-in-law Mark (Rose) Noble, Kenyon, MN; brother-in-law Dale (Shirley) Bauer, Faribault, MN; and sister-in-law, LeeAnn, Northfield, MN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Emily (Paul) Perron Sandager, Ashley (John) Perron-Knutson, Loren Perron, April (Justin) Kanzenbach, Chase (Bridgette) Bauer, Ellie Bauer, Matthew (Sunni) Neal, Dan (Bri) Krause, Dave (Jen) Krause, Jake Bauer, Andrew (Kelsey) Grambart, and Katie Grambart; and 7 great grandchildren, Thomas Sandager; Haleigh, Emmit, Liam and Roman Kanzenbach; Oaklyn and Myla Krause. Additionally, she was survived by many dear friends and other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barb Noble; in laws, Art and Myrtle Bauer; brother-in-law, Jerald Bauer and grandson, Nicholas Grambart. The family would like to thank Dr. Judy Fruehbroht, M.D., Peggy Dunton, CNA, CPN of Mayo Clinic Health System of Faribault, the nurses and staff of Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, and Allina Hospice of Owatonna for their care with a special thank you to Carmen Breyer of hospice for her dedicated care of our mother.
