Richard "Rick" Malecha 1957–2020 Marietta, Georgia—Richard "Rick" Malecha Jr. age 63, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at his home. Rick was born the son of Richard Sr. and Jeannie (Valek) Malecha on October 19, 1957, in Northfield. He attended Northfield High School and following, worked in the construction industry. He moved to Florida where he worked in offshore fishing for five years before taking a position with Superior Rigging and Erecting based out of Atlanta. Rick began as a welder and at retirement held the position as foreman. The company was known for precision work with cranes and welding. Some of the projects included erecting rollercoasters at Disney World and other amusement parks along with building casinos. Rick retired in 2018. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and vegetable gardening. Rick is survived by his son Ricky (Stefanie) Little of Pagosa Springs, CO; his daughter Nicci (Josh) Vosejpka of Northfield; three grandchildren Oliver, Charlie, Nora; and siblings Renee Malecha of Rochester, Larry (Dawn) Malecha of Faribault, Dawn (Phillip Forshee) Malecha of Dundas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gaylord. Private family services will be held at Bierman Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, November 14, 2020, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Tim Norris officiating. The service can be viewed live stream at: Public visitation will be at Bierman Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mask are required. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale.
