Lois Kodada 1923–2020 Northfield—Lois Kodada, age 96, of Northfield, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at the Northfield Hospital. Lois was born on September 29, 1923, at her grandmother's home in Webster to Harold and Veronica (Sprain) Carlson. After her education, she babysat in Iowa and kept house for her aunt in Faribault. She later became a custodian at the Northfield Hospital. After her retirement, Lois began taking care of children again. Lois loved to share her life story with her grandchildren. She had a strong faith and passed it on to her family always making sure that they attended church. She read parts of the Holy Bible daily and was very active with LWML at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lois was full of life, comforting and loved giving to her grandchildren. The grandchildren said that they found Grandma Lois' house a place of comfort and they enjoyed spending time with her. She was known for her cinnamon rolls and rhubarb pie. She enjoyed baking for her family, friends, and the church. She enjoyed going on walks, dancing the polka and waltzes, gardening and always had a special spot in her heart for her dogs. She is survived by her five children, Steve (Debbie) of New Ulm, Linda DeMann (Tom Pumper) of Northfield, Sandra (John) Wingenbach of Northfield, Stan (Gina) of Fort White, FL, and Paul (Chris) of Cannon Falls; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barb, her sister Audrey Quinlan, a grandson Clayton Kodada, and her parents. Private funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield with Reverend Brent Klein officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Webster. biermanfuneralhome.com.
