Many businesses downtown and throughout Faribault are eager to usher spring in and will showcase new products and services at two upcoming events.
Grab your gals and head downtown from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday when 18 businesses will feature in-store specials, guests, free samples and/or refreshments for Ladies Night Out.
Creating a Ruckus Too will have specials, a make-up artist from Sunset Salon with spring colors on hand and a stylist from the Hair Station to demonstrate spring hairstyles and updos. Jillian Raye Photography will be also be there taking girls night out photos.
“Many stores have new items for the new season,” said Creating a Ruckus Too owner Jackie Carlander. “It’ s a good way to get together with your friends and find some new outfits and/or décor for spring.”
Carlander said downtown businesses usually collaborate to hold a Ladies Night Out event in the spring and fall and attendance has been good since the event began about six years ago.
During the first Faribault Main Street Get Your Spring On event, Second Street Northeast will be closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday when businesses will gather to bring spring products and services to downtown Faribault.
“We’ll have campers, pontoons, a landscaping company, the State Bank of Faribault to talk about boat and car loans, convertibles from Harry Brown’s, Twiehoff’s, Faribault Garden Center and Milltown Cycles,” said Faribault Main Street coordinator Jill Mackey. “We’re going to do our best to kick off spring on Saturday.”
Mackey also said that about 30 businesses in and around downtown will offer at least one item at 25 percent off, indicated by a large, yellow daisy in the window. Even if it rains and the outdoor event is cancelled, the stores will still have specials.
Also, many people will be cleaning up downtown on Saturday morning for Beautification Day in Faribault.
