An old-style dairy barn is a total loss following a Monday evening fire east of Faribault.
According to a release from the Faribault Fire Department, no one was injured, and no animals were housed in the barn.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Department responded to the barn fire on the on 6500 block of 220th Street East in Walcott Township around 9:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, according to a release from the Rice County Sheriff’s Department, the barn was fully engulfed.
According to the Faribault Fire Department, firefighters requested mutual aid from Kenyon and Medford fire departments to assist with the water supply.
The release noted that the cause is undetermined, and foul play is not suspected.
