Each week this summer, there will be a new way to make a splash in the cool waters of the Faribault Family Aquatic Center with aquaglide inflatables.
The Faribault Family Aquatic Center recently purchased seven mega-sized inflatables for its summer opening Saturday, June 1.
With seven separate inflatables, three of which can be linked at a time, a dozen different combinations can be made to stretch across the deep end of the pool.
One of the inflatables is a pyramid, while another is a 15-foot tall swing called the catapult. Swimmers can swing and launch themselves into the pool.
Also, a 6-foot rectangular inflatable is built for the game King of the Hill with a slide on one side and handles for climbing to the top and toppling other players on the other three sides.
Throughout the summer, different combinations will be created each week to build new inflatable fun.
“Compared to new construction or remodeling, the inflatables are a cheap addition to change the pool and bring in new excitement,” said Kevin O’Brien, the Faribault Family Aquatic Center aquatics director. “We’re very excited about them.”
Children must be 4 years or older, or 48 inches tall, to play on the inflatables.
The inflatables will be set up around 4 p.m. for the second half of the afternoon.
