On Wednesday morning, results of Tuesday’s township elections were reported to the respective auditor and treasurer’s offices in both Dakota and Rice counties.

UPDATE, 12:58 a.m.: The Republican-endorsed Brian Daniels is the confirmed winner in state House District 24B following a tight race with incumbent DFLer Patti Fritz. 

Incumbent Patti Fritz ultimately took the District 24B seat handily — garnering nearly 57 percent of the vote, according to final results posted at 2:37 a.m. Wednesday on the Secretary of State website.

OWATONNA — Minnesota First District Congressman Tim Walz stood Tuesday with the parents of an openly gay soldier who died in Afghanistan and said he’s opposed to a proposed Minnesota constitution amendment banning same-sex marriage.
