Mayo Clinic brings express care to Faribault

On Monday, April 6, Mayo Clinic Health System will open an express care clinic in Faribault. This clinic is located at the Crossroads Professional Building, at the corner of Highway 3 and Lyndale Avenue.

Walk-in only appointments will be available to patients 18 months and older suffering from sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, rashes and other routine illnesses. Limited laboratory services will be available on-site. The express care clinic will share some clinic space with the occupational medicine clinic that opened earlier this year.

Jacob Kruger, Mayo Clinic Health System physician assistant, will treat patients at express care. He brings extensive experience in urgent care to this practice. Kruger will be joined later this month by Michelle Blankenship, nurse practitioner.

Express care hours are:

• Monday through Friday from 3-7:30 p.m.

• Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Patients can call 507-333-3350 to learn more about the conditions treated at express care. However, anyone wishing to be seen must visit the clinic for an appointment.

HealthFinders, Sterling to create local pharmacy

HealthFinders Collaborative is excited to announce their partnership with Sterling Pharmacies to create a community pharmacy program that will better connect patients with lifesaving medications and best serve the needs of the HealthFinders community.

This pharmacy partnership will increase patient access to pharmacy services through programs like free, daily prescription delivery in Northfield and Faribault and automatic prescription refills. Together, Sterling and HealthFinders are working to develop tools and processes that simplify the medication refill process, thus making it easier for patients to take their medications properly.

This spring, HealthFinders patients will begin using Sterling Pharmacies to fill their prescriptions.
