The Bluejay girls and boys track teams continued their successful seasons, as they each won their home meet Thursday afternoon.
The boys finished with 168 points and Water-Elysian-Morristown finished in second with 43 points. St. Peter took third with 38 and New Ulm came in fourth with 10 points overall.
In the boys 4x800 relay, Brody Wirtz, Joseph Schmidt, Brandon Lopez and Collin Dufault ran a time of 9:40 which was good enough for first place. In the boys 4x200 relay, Blake Wendland, Connor Buchele, Tanner Brinkman and Lindy Fiebiger posted a time of 1:36.19 which brought the team another first-place finish.
Liam Aberle put up the best time in the 300-meter hurdles at 43.58 for first place. Brody Wirtz came in first during the 3200-meter run at 11:35.82 overall. Captain Colton Halla came in first during the 800-meter dash recording a time of 2:07.11. Halla also came in second during the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.26. Fiebiger put together a time of 52.64 in the 400-meter dash which which was good enough for third place.
The Bluejay girls team came in first with 156 points and St. Peter finished behind them with 51. WEM took third with 43 and New Ulm finished in fourth with two.
During the girls 4x200 relay Camie McClune, Wren Dahle, Ekie Frye and Taylor Flatau put up a time of 1:48.47 for first place. Maddy Bulfer, Maddie Thompson, Samara Johnson and Sydney Ludwig put in a time of 50.85 in the 4x100 relay which gave the team another first place finish. Brittany Draeger, Clarissa Mairs, Lilly Halla and Alayna Aykers pulled out a first place finish in the 4x800 event with a time of 12:06.42. Gabby Rodriguez got first place for the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.34. Emily DeMorett posted a time of 5:40.20 in the 1600-meter run for a second-place finish.
Waseca will compete on Saturday in the State True Team meet at Stillwater high school at 3 p.m.
