Jose Luis Renteria, 34, of Waldorf, was charged with a drug crime after an investigation of the South Central Drug Investigation Unit.

The unit searched a residence on North Street in Waldorf using a search warrant. They found three people in the place, including Renteria, who was sleeping in a bedroom. Renteria had outstanding warrants from Mower County.

Renteria told agents that he had methamphetamine and a drug pipe, the criminal complaint. Agents found 54.48 grams of methamphetamine, envelopes with $8,514 of money and $675 in Renteria’s wallet.

He was charged with felony first-degree drug possession and will have a settlement conference in Waseca County District Court on Nov. 20.
