Cow Tipping El Tequila

The Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library System has a number of events planned at its libraries from June 10 through July 15.

Molly the Mouse Play

CLIMB Theatre will present a play based on the classic fable The Lion and the Mouse, followed by an imaginative, kid-friendly activity session focused on teaching empathy skills.

Make a pneumatic PVC pipe water balloon rocket on Monday, June 10 at 5 p.m. Let the water wars begin. This event is free and exclusively for ages 13-18.

Bubble Gum Self Portraits

Get inspired by Lester Fizz, Bubble Gum Artist, then tell your story by painting a picture of yourself with personalized details on Friday, June 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Movies in Space Trivia

Be quick on the buzzer on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Teams up to 4 players (ages 9-15 or families) compete to see who knows the most about E.T., Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars and Wall-E. Registration is required and done at the library or by calling 507-665-2662.

Level Up: World Building

Design and develop an imaginary world, full of detail and fantasy, through a variety of creative writing techniques on Thursday, June 13 at 10:30 a.m. This free event is geared for ages 7-12.

New Richland Public Library

Crafty Constellations

Learn the stories behind constellations and create your own versions in food and crafts on Tuesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. This free event is geared for ages 9-13.

Waseca Public Library

Level Up: Coding Jam

Kids are encouraged to create music using Osmo gaming system while learning basic coding skills on Monday, June 10 at 10 a.m. Registration required for this free event that is geared for ages 7-12. Stop by the Library to register or call 507-835-2910.

Creator Studio: Ozobots

Play with tiny robots that respond to color commands on Thursday, June 13 at 2 p.m. Registration is required. This free event is geared for ages 10-15. Stop by the Library to register or call 507-835-2910.

Percy Jackson Book Club

Explore one Percy Jackson a month on June 13, July 11 and August 8 at 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Debate your favorite monster, construct a family tree of Gods, create a Medusa sculpture and play Capture the Flag. Swim and Stories at Waseca Water Park

Waseca Public Library will lead a special Romp and Rhyme Story Time at the Waseca Water Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15. Keep cool and enjoy the water while sharing books, stories, rhymes, music and movement at this family story time. Water Park admission not included.

Tell Your Story: Writing Workshops for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Cow Tipping Press and Waseca Public Library have partnered to bring an innovative creative writing workshop series entitled Tell Your Story, for adults with developmental disabilities. This series will showcase the writers’ unique gifts and voice with the world. No experience, reading, or handwriting skills are necessary for students to participate. At the end of the course, the writers will walk away as published authors with their work included in a published book—a compilation of work written by all of the authors in this class.

The workshops will take place on Mondays,June 10-July 8 from 4 p.m. -6 p.m. at Waseca Public Library. Due to limited space, registration is required. Stop by the Library or call 507-362-8462 to register.
