Kenyon-Wanamingo and Zumbrota-Mazeppa baseball split Thursday's doubleheader in Zumbrota.

In one game, K-W (6-13, 6-9 Hiawatha Valley League) hung tight before Z-M (7-12, 5-9 HVL) pulled away with a 10-run seventh inning to win 14-3.

In another, the Knights never trailed en route to a 5-2 victory.

In the 5-2 win, Colin Sviggum led K-W with a 2-for-4 day at the plate. Lefty Owen Hilke pitched a complete game and allowed no earned runs and only one walk. He threw 69 strikes on 98 pitches.

Luke Krier led Z-M with a 2-for-2 day. Spencer Krohn pitched five innings for Z-M and took the loss.

In the other game, K-W led early and was within a run midway through until Z-M broke out for its big inning.

Willy Holm led Z-M with a 3-for-4 day with two triples and four RBIs. Tate Erlandson and Hilke each had two hits for K-W.

K-W has completed the conference slate and closes the regular season 5:30 p.m. Monday at Houston (3-15).
