Happy Birthday to Julie Dressel, who celebrated her birthday on June 10th. Hope your day was great, Julie.

On Monday, Julie, Krissy, Katie and I attended Ryan Block’s baseball game in Prior Lake. The team beat Lakeville South by a score of 6-0, so it was a fun game to watch.

On Wednesday, Kim Bakken, Krissy and I met at Reunion Eat, Drink and Gather Restaurant in Northfield for our regular get-together. Reunion is a beautiful new restaurant where the Rueb ‘n Stein used to be. The décor is really nice, and the food was great. Before I met Kim and Krissy in Northfield, I stopped by Heritage House to visit my aunt, Ruth Jacobson, and brought her some rhubarb sauce that I made from her own beautiful rhubarb in Kenyon. Ruth is doing well, and we had a nice visit.

Julie and Maggie met Amanda and her three kiddos on Thursday afternoon at Lake Kohlmeier in Owatonna. Madrox spent most of the afternoon building an impressive sand castle, while Ari and Autumn swam. The day was finished with a super soaker water fight, and I think Amanda and Madrox won! Lake Kohlmeier is a nice place to swim with a sandy beach and a nice picnic area.

There’s been a lot of baseball in Dan and Carol’s family this weekend. Congrats to the Farmington 13AAA for winning the championship at the Burnsville Invitational Tournament. Grandson, Nick, is on the team!! Meanwhile, Camden’s team placed 3rd at the Eagan Tournament and they qualified for the state tournament. Congratulations!!

On Friday, Gwen Springer and I went on a little road trip and met Helen Sathre in Eagan. We met for had dinner at Houlihan’s, and then back to Helen’s house to have a belated birthday celebration with her. It’s always fun for us three to get together, and I’m glad we’ve kept it up over the years. Our moms were good friends, and I’m sure they’d be very proud that we’re close friends as well.

JB, Julie and Maggie attended the graduation party for Donivan Rath on Saturday. Donivan is planning to attend TCTC this fall, so good luck!!

Thanks to Pastor Mark Grandquist from Northfield, for leading Worship on Sunday at Moland. Next Sunday we will have Pastor Joel Erickson from Albert Lea lead our Worship and Holy Communion at 9 a.m. Plans for the Moland Strawberry Festival are coming together. It will be held on Sunday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu will stay the same, and the WELCA will also have a bake sale during the festival. Please plan to attend!

It was nice to have Marietta and Vince Lee of Lake City at Worship Services on Sunday. Marietta is the daughter of Erma Jensen, and the granddaughter of Ruth Anderson. Marietta and her husband wanted to take some pictures of our church and cemetery for their family history, and were interested in one of our beautiful stained glass windows which was given in memory of the Anderson family.

Julie, Maggie, Mary Hjermstad and I attended the Owatonna Aces vs. Wanamingo Jacks’ baseball game on Sunday afternoon in Wanamingo. My friend, Kristen Hager’s husband, Benji, is on the Aces’ team, so it was fun to watch him play. The rain chased us away in about the 4th inning, but the Jacks went on to win 6-2.

Please remember to feed and water the birds.
