Happy Birthday this week to Jenna Engel, Ryan Wetzstein, Mike Kruger, and Ron Gilthvedt who are all celebrating their birthdays this week. Hope you have a great birthday you guys!

Best wishes to John Davidson, Jr. who underwent surgery this week in Rochester. It sounds like all went well and he was expected to return home early this week, so that’s great news, Johnny, and we all hope you continue to do well.

Kris Mills, Karen Torseth of Lakeville, Julie and I enjoyed dinner at Schweich’s on Wednesday evening. We all had a good time enjoying the beautiful evening outside.

Faye Noble visited with Ruth Parker on Thursday.

Sincere sympathy is sent to Bones David and his family as Lois passed away this weekend. Lois was such a nice person, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her entire family as well as friends and neighbors. Take care, Bones and kids, and remember all of the good memories you have of Lois.

Hannah LoPresto spent a couple of days with her Grandma and Grandpa Derscheid this weekend. Hannah was good help at the Strawberry Festival on Sunday, so I hope she comes again next year.

On Friday, Jeff and Karen Davidson, Gary and Annette Peters, Helen Sathre, Gail and Dave Trapp and I enjoyed drinks and dinner at Schweich’s. As always, a good time was had by all. Also that evening, Julie Broin, Tammy Hinderaker, Bonnie Otto, and Rochelle Wille got together to wish Tammy good luck at her new job in Northfield.

We had lots of rain this week, but Bob had lots of nice produce to take to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. Most people’s gardens are a couple of weeks behind, but there was still lots of good produce, flowers, baked goods and canned good available on Saturday at the market. Plan to check it out some time, every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 noon at Central Park in Faribault. The market is also held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 7 p.m.

Best wishes to Katie Block who had an appendectomy this past weekend. Appendicitis really runs in our family, as Mom and Chuck are the only people in our family who haven’t had their appendix out. Take care, Katie, and I’m sure you’re feeling better.

Faye Noble and Linda Noble attended the banquet for Dodge County Township Officers on Thursday evening at the Dodge Center American Legion Club.

The annual Moland Strawberry Festival was held on Sunday and was another success. Thanks to all who attended. We had some former Moland members who came from quite a distance to attend including, Dale and Cindy Pechacek from Austin, Keith and Lana Krueger from Blooming Prairie, Audrey and Don Synder. Also attending were Jeff and Karen Davidson, and Kevin and Mary Gail Anderson. Thanks everyone.

Mary and Craig Vangsness and Ryan Block attended the Strawberry Festival on Sunday for lunch. Thanks for coming!! It was fun to see you, Ryan.

Reminder of Family League camping at Camp Faribault on July 19-21. There will be a worship service and potluck supper on Saturday night that people who may not be camping for the weekend can attend. We will not have church services on Sunday, July 21, so please plan to attend the worship on Saturday evening in Faribault, or visit an area church on Sunday. Please get a hold of Christine Behne or Stacy Thofson if you would like to reserve a camping site for the weekend.

Also, we are still looking for more people to work at the CashWise Food Stand July 5 and 6. Please sign up or contact Christine Behne or Stacy Thofson if you are able to help.

Susan and Al Anderson attended the services at the Old Stone Church on Sunday morning along with Don and Sarah Broin and Judy and Jerry Houglum.

Dan and Carol, Krissy, and me attended Nick Aase’s baseball game on Tuesday evening at Aikin Elementary in Farmington. Nick plays for the Farmington Giants. On Tuesday night they played the Farmington Rangers and won 6 to 2. Nick had a nice hit and a great play in the outfield, and it was really fun to watch.

Remember to feed and water the birds.
