UPDATED: Crash stalls traffic on Hwy. 169 in St. Peter

A St. Peter man whose Chevy sedan was hit by a large United Rentals semi-truck Wednesday morning suffered minor injuries, according to Minnesota State Patrol. 

The crash accorded at the intersection of Hwy. 22 and Hwy. 169 in St. Peter. 

Thomas Marten, 65, was attempting to make a left onto Hwy. 22 and pulled out in front of the semi and was struck, according to state patrol. 

He was transported to River's Edge Hospital as a precaution, but was not seriously injured. The driver of the semi truck, Joshua Johnson, of Indiana, was not injured. 

Both drivers were wearing their seat belt, according to state patrol. 

Traffic was stalled for nearly an half an hour while the accident scene was cleared. 

St. Peter Police, Minnesota State Patrol, the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office and River's Edge EMS responded to the scene.

UPDATED: 10:30 A.M. 

A car crash at the intersection of Hwy. 22 and Hwy. 169 in St. Peter slowed traffic this morning and sent at least one man to the hospital. 

The crash involved a large, United Rentals semi-truck and small Chevy sedan. The truck was traveling north on Hwy. 169 and the car was turning left onto Hwy. 22, according to Minnesota State Patrol. 

A witness, traveling west on Hwy. 22 at the time of the crash, told troopers the light was still red, according to Sgt. Jacalyn Sticha. 

The driver of the Chevy was transported to the hospital, according to State Patrol. His name has yet to be released. 

St. Peter Police, Minnesota State Patrol, the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office and River's Edge EMS responded to the scene. 

State Patrol will investigate the crash.
