Connie L. Holter 1947–2019 Owatonna—Connie Lynn Holter, 71, of Owatonna, passed away, surrounded by her family, on June 3, 2019 at Owatonna Hospital. Connie was born on September 9, 1947 in Princeton, Illnois. She grew up in Wyanet, Illinois and Laurel, Montana. She moved to Owatonna in 2004. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Bible Studies from Pillsbury Baptist College in 1970. She later went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Mankato State University. Connie was a devoted mother who loved to spend time with her children. She retired from General Equipment Company in September 2017. Once retired, she focused on her passion of quilting and passed on her skills to many of her family and friends. In 2017, she and her children started a longarm quilting business. Connie was an active member at Grace Baptist Church and was involved with prayer groups and a number of ministries. She substituted at Owatonna Christian School and loved spending time with the children. She also devoted her time to several organizations; Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, Owatonna Marine Parents, and Civil Air Patrol. She also loved her weekly tea shared with her best friend, Connie "from across the street." Connie is survived by her children: Stefanie and Aron Leavstrom, of Owatonna, MN; Carolyn Holter, of Owatonna, MN; Lance and Fiona Holter, of Sierra Vista, AZ. Sisters; Wanda Kinion, of Olympia, WA; Mary Rodgers, of New Brockton, AL. Brothers; Jim Philhower, of Clyde Park, MT; Jerry Philhower, of Laurel, MT. She is also survived by her beloved extended family and honorary grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Leona Philhower, and her brother, Michael Philhower. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Rd., Owatonna on Friday, June 7th from 4-7pm and church Saturday from 12-1pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church, 265 26th St. NE, Owatonna, MN 55060, with Pastor Dave Levy officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, 425 Mineral Springs Rd.
