OWATONNA — The Owatonna Fire Department, Steele County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to a vehicle rollover at the 8400 Block of Crane Creek Road, also known as old Highway 14.

The call came just after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Owatonna Fire Commander Kevin Sedivy said with the sun and the trees making visibility low coming around the bend, the vehicle slipped and the woman, who has not been identified, lost control spun 180 degrees and landed in the ditch.

The vehicle, heading east toward Owatonna, rolled over to the south side of Crane Creek Road and landed on its side, so the driver couldn’t get out.

Sedivy said five firefighters were on scene assisting the woman out of her vehicle. He said the driver did not sustain any injuries and was not transported.

“She drove away from the scene,” Sedivy said.

Sedivy said the woman’s husband arrived and tried to drive the car home.

“There wasn’t much damage at all,” Sedivy said. “She’s very lucky.”

No other vehicles were involved.
