John A. Lewandowski 1942–2019 Washington—John A. Lewandowski, age 76, of Washington, IN, passed away on Saturday morning at Daviess County Hospital. He was born October 19, 1942 in Northfield, Minnesota to Jeanette A. (Rasmussen) and Alphonse J. Lewandowski. He attended Northfield High School. He married Shirley (Frerich) Lewandowski in Little Falls, MN June 29, 1963. He worked at Malt-O-Meal in Northfield, Tony Downs, Jerome Foods, and retired from Perdue Processing Plant. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and American Legion. John is survived by his sons: Mike (Amy) Lewandowski, Matthew (Jessica) Lewandowski, Mitchell (Becky) Lewandowski; daughters: Michelle (Steve) Potoczky, Mandi Jo Lewandowski, Cathy (Dave) Krostue; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Jane (Mick) Lindberg of Rochester, MN, Kathy (Larry) DeMars of Maple Lake, MN; brother: Kenny (Sharon) Lewandowski of Lakeville, MN. Preceding him in death were his wife, Shirley; his parents; son, Mark; and brother, Joe. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Washington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary, 620 E. Viola Ave. Washington, IN.
