William Ervin Hudson 4/6/1938–6/28/2019 Eagan, MN—William Ervin Hudson passed away on Friday, June 28th, 2019 at his home in Eagan, MN. William was born on April 6th, 1938, the son of William and Lillian (Fitch) Hudson in Washington, D.C. His family lived in Camilla, GA for a few years before settling down in Tampa, FL for his teen years. He graduated from Henry B. Plant High School in 1956 before serving several years in the U.S. Coast Guard. William went on to receive a degree in mathematics from the University of Minnesota and master's degrees in applied behavioral science from Mankato State university and from Whitworth University. After teaching mathematics for twelve years at Northfield, MN High School, William started his own consulting business helping organizations to work better as a team. He was passionate about his consulting work and continued this until his retirement. Perhaps William will be most remembered for his love of camping and exploring the outdoors. His years as a Boy Scout troupe leader helped instill this passion in others. He was always eager to share his knowledge. William's other passions were many; kitemaking, quilting, reading, building gadgets (see pine cone picker-upper), fishing and helping others. He is survived by his sons William (Ann) of Sartell, MN, Daniel of St. Joseph, MN and David (Jacqueline) of Northfield, MN; brothers Bertram (Ginger) and Benjamin; sister Beth; and many neighborhood kids who adopted him as a grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 at Crossroads Church, 17671 Glacier Way, Lakeville, MN.
